Antec Kuhler H20 920 tube size

Thread Starter
I'm using an Antec Kuhler H20 920 to cool my CPU. I'm also setting up a liquid cooling set up for my video cards. I like to match the tubing size of the Antec Kuhler with that of the tubes I'm using for my video cards liquid cooling set up. What's the size (ID) of the tube used in Antec Kuhler? Is that 3/8 or 1/2? What would be the best tube size for liquid cooling?

If the size on the Kuhler 920 is the same as the 620 (which it looks like from the pictures), then I am going to say 1/4 inch inner diameter.
The tubing is 10.7 mm outer diameter (about .425 inches), generally tubing wall is at least 1/16 thick, which puts the inner diameter at .3 inches at most

in addition, this tubing is very resistant to kinking, indicating to me that the tubing wall is especially thick, which is why I said 1/4"

If you hang on another week, I will be attempting to mod my 620, and will post my results.

I've read elsewhere that these low profile asetek pumps are very weak, and designed only to work with the single block and rad that they come with. Adding another block will probably be fine, but up sizing the radiator AND adding a block may put too much extra strain on the pump and it will burn out faster.

Just to be safe, I am going to be using 3/8" tubing instead of 1/4" to try and keep as much strain off of the pump as possible.

Also, If the 4870s in your sig are the cards you are planning on cooling, I'd say forget about using the kuhler.

First of all you are going to need at least a 3x120 rad to dissipate the heat from just those cards, combined with either 4x universal or 2x full coverage waterblocks, you will kill the asetek pump very quickly.

You are going to be spending upwards of $200 on the water blocks alone, I'd recommend throwing in an extra $50-$80 and getting a good dedicated pump.

Also, use a dual loop. If you try to make a single loop with all of those components, you will either be feeding hot water to your cards from the cpu or even hotter water the other way around (unless you have big rads in between).
