won't be expecting much since its not such a popular game but i figured i'll ask anyway

you get a sense of superiority and a miniature hole in your wallet, hooray.

alternatively you can tell them that you played it way before it was mainstream.

errr.....no

maybe i wasnt clear enough when i asked.

Do I just get into the game and try to enter whatever servers thats available from there? or is it through other ways?

sorry if its a noob question, I never paid for the MMO part of the game anyway

Also, to add to the frustration, I own the South-east asia version lol

..Unless I'm out of the loop, this game has already gone FTP.

Hellgate London, as a title is no more. The game is now called: Hellgate Global. And while it's FTP, they have a micro transaction system in place, which makes a big difference in gameplay when using it.

Your retail disc will unfortunately do nothing for you (With the exception of using some of the retail files to enhance the graphics of the current online version).

Yes, I already mentioned that i knew about the F2P part.

what do you mean by the micro transaction? you mean like buying items and such? sorry im not familiar with this kind of things

so basically this game they are having now is a different game with the same(or mostly similar i suppose) contents, am i right? Was just asking for such a possibility, and whether the game thats up at the moment has a link with the game i own or not.

though im very interested in what you said about switching in retail files to enhance graphics. suppose i need to search for the possibilities of that? though if you didnt mention that I would have thought they might have improved it before putting the game back up

The game is the same, with some new content (if you can call it that!).

I read on the HG forums back when I was playing it that somebody was able to assimilate some of the retail files into the new online version by means of installing the retail version elsewhere. I can't however remember how, since I had lost my HL install CD

The Microtransaction deal is as follows:
- Auto Dissasemblers
- Experience increases
- ACT 3 TICKET (You cannot progress further in the game without this ticket. It can either be purchased with actual money, or some people sell them on the auction house in game where you can purchase it for in game money.

It's somewhat more extensive than that, but if you've got a credit card you will usually be drawn to paying for the extras as they make the game much more enjoyable. Especially the auto dissassemblers.

late game content requires a bought ticket?!

oh man that isnt free to play man, not at all.

thats just WoW having the first 20 levels free trial. (can you get stuck in ACT 2 while leveling forever though?)

oh well, ill try it anyway since my friend is willing to try it out. he normally doesnt spend money on PC games(he owns a decent desktop and isnt a console fanboy, i suppose he just found some console games more attractive, like the demon soul or whatever)
