He is defensive because their "BETA" was indeed just a DEMO. Why else would he even bring that up?

I haven't really seen anyone complain about the bugs in the game, about 99% of complaints have been about the game it self, in particular, Battlelog.

And the fact is, the beta minus the bugs was VERY close to what you will see on launch day. It will take them the entire time between the beta and building the final product to get the kinks worked out, there will be no time to change much else..... and if they did change much else, it would introduce new bugs that would need to be worked out.

I think they are realizing that the hype behind really took a hit with the beta release..... and it had nothing to do with the glitches.
People were complaining for alot of stupid reasons, caspian being missing at the beginning, how the game didnt max out their 580s, how the game couldnt max on their 460. Battlelog, changing settings and squad features were legitimate complaints, but really people are over exaggerating. I find battlelog to be quick and easy to find a game, especially compared to the horrible server browsers battlefield games have had in the past, anyone remember the horrid browser from bf2, 2142 or more recently bc2? However despite being fast it does feel kinda cheap. As for the latter issues DICE said they will be fixed in the final retail.

So other than the battlelog issue the big problems have been addressed, however even the battlelog issue is not as great as people make it out to be, it doesnt effect the gameplay.

Didnt understand the graphic complaint. From the little time I spent not dying I thought it looked great. Even had good fps on my single card. Had to down clock my card but that was fine.

They say the same things: "You're stupid," "We hate you."

And we're like… "Sorry!"

I worked for EA and Capcom two years ago as a playtester as a side job (I got free games and up to $100 per hour for the job; it was a blast). I got a chance to play all the games EA has released probably 2-6 months before they came out.

I actually playtested BC2. I played the alpha AND beta for BC2. There were a ton of glitches in both of those - and when the final game released and I was given a copy, MANY of the bugs and glitches persisted. While BC2 is a fun game, it's still buggy as hell in my opinion. I mean it's playable and still a really great game - but definitely not bug free.

This is why I fear BF3 won't be ready in two weeks. They're promising the same things that they have in the past for all of the other games I've play tested for them, it seems to be the same story over and over again. I will definitely be playing and buying BF3 regardless -- and even though this was one of the better betas I've ever played -- its a shame that EA and Dice are promising so many things that they probably will not deliver.

edit: Oh, and FYI I also playtested MoH and had a bunch of complaints that lined up with the other playtesters that EA and Dice said they would "fix". Look how that game turned out

I hate how he basically just said there may never be another Open Beta ever again. Seriously? Over a few whiners you're going to screw the majority of people who were actually having fun and posting feedback? I posted over 15 good feedback threads and commented on tons. Plenty of people did the same~ labeling us all just because negativity is louder than the proper response? Why did we bother?

Open beta's are great for large scale stress testing, but not for serious feedback.

Would take a closed beta over an open one any day.
