Hey guys,

I have a question.
I've been digging around and trying to find out what's important when you buy water cooling tools and stuff.
But I still don't really get it.

I'm running a stability test on my GTX 470 right now (I want to OC my GPU / CPU) and it's running at 85/86 degrees celsius with Fan at 100%, quite hot

Anyway I need some help gathering some equipment together that will work for me.

My specs:

Intel Q6600 Stock
Asus P5K Pro
4GB Ram 667 (1 module broke last week so I got 3GB right now)
Gigabyte GTX 470 607/1215/1674 (testing stability at 700/1400/1674 right now, so far so good)
Cooler Master M620 620 watts.

I might upgrade to:
Intel i5-2500k (or i7-2600k but I don't think so)
Asus P8P67 LE REV 3.0
Corshair 8GB Vengeance 1600 Dual Channel Ram

I would appreciate any help.

Oh and if you do recommend anything, would you mind adding WHY you recommend it (because of certain specs? or anything that would be great)

Thanks in advance.

The first thing I would say is I noticed you are on older or not "top" of the line equipment.

Just realize that water cooling if you're buying full blocks etc can be VERY expensive. So you might consider your money better spent on upgrading your hardware first.

LINK for gpu
LINK for rasa kit
PICK a color of tubing
for coolant all you need is distilled water

Ye, I was kind of hoping that there would be an option that can be used on my current hardware, but also on "my" future hardware. (But I'm not even sure if I NEED new hardware, I can run everything fine so far.)

And Worple, thanks for your reply.

Well there is. You could always get a universal GPU block for your cards that can be used in the future. The only thing is then you need to buy heatsinks for your vram on your video card and make sure air is moving across them. I have some on my 460's. Then if you decided to UG in the future you could use them on your next card.

Will these be just as good as those GPU specific blocks or will there be big differences.

They will but like he said make sure you have a fan moving air across the heatsinks

Hmm, maybe I should wait till I have enough to upgrade my system, + get a quality case that will make it easier for me to install those radiators and not having to put them on my desk lol.

I'll need to upgrade my shopping list ^^.

Oh Worple, that radiator you recommended, is it really necessary to have that one? (cause it's pretty expensive, and since I haven't done overclocking/water cooling before), I'm wondering if it will be of any use to me.

Anyway thanks for your help.

No sir you can get cheaper by shopping around but you will need a 360 rad to cool the gear listed good luck and have a good day
