I'm having a blast with the game. It requires a lot of tweaking and config editing to get it to run properly. There are still a lot of low-res textures however, and you can tell it is a console port. However, the game is fun as hell.. and I am definitely going to give it a second run through just because I missed a lot of the collector cards and secret areas!

I do have to say the game was awfully short and easy. I finished after about 8-8.5 hours or so. I did all the sides quests for both towns including the races( I won them all), before I started the ending mission I had about $2750 and about $2000 worth in trash I never sold. I went into my last mission with all my weapons over half way full in ammo, about 85 advanced wing stick, about 20 advanced turrets and drones, and about 15 rc cars. Sad thing is that I didn't have to use anything but my guns and wing sticks.....

It was a fun game....but I was expecting something a lot longer for an RPG based game.

Okay Carmack. Why can Valve do it right? Why can Crytek? And DICE, and Blizzard, and indie companies...?

Suck on that Carmack.

I'm a twitch.tv viewer and RAGE has had so little play. I've been using game popularity there to get a handle of whats fun to play.

Decided to quote some important bits since most probably won't read the article anyways.

Hopefully we can put this thing to bed and see Rage for the fantastic game it is.
Fantastic? I find it hard to call a game "fantastic" that brings absolutely nothing new to the table. Technical issues aside, this game is just plain weak. Weak story, weak environments, weak effort. It does nothing that tons of games haven't done before, and done better. Now add in THEIR technical issues, and you've got no reason to spend money on it.

Blanket statements are usually a bad thing. (<-- yes, irony, I know )

Saying you wouldn't buy an awesome game just because they made a console version at the same time, is one of the dumber things I've ever heard.

Way worse, and that's saying something because the ending for Borderlands was just sad. Without giving too much away, let me just say that at least the Borderlands ending had a boss fight. The RAGE ending felt like the ending from the Sopranos TV series.
