AMD told me directly that only 1 bridge should be used otherwise the cards could communicate wrong.

Currently I am only using one card, I wanted to compare the result single 6970 to a single 580 and 5870.

So far its much lower then what I got with the 580 and even the 5870.

I swapped the cards: IE: Currently one installed, so took it out and put the second one in its place yet still the same result.

Maybe its a mobo issue since I did reset the bios to original settings.

@ha3ap

Why would you go crossfire on a Phenom II 965 @ 4.2Ghz.
It cant even fully power a hd6950.. let alone dual hd6970's...

You better OC your CPU More, if you want to use the gpu power you paid for.

Once again currently I am only testing with single card. I do have two cards but havent crossfired them yet!

The score that I have posted is WITH A SINGLE 6970 and NOT crossfire

Currently its not a cpu issue cause if you look at the score you can see that its the gpu that has an issue.

Once again I managed a much higher score (~4500) with a single 5870 using the same cpu.

+1 two bridges are needed and make sure you select the two fastest PCIe slots.

Rubbish.

Yea but i mean, on allot of benchmarks you wont get the scores some other people are getting.

Due to the fact your cpu wont use more then +-70% usage on both cards due to cpu bottlenecking.

@dihartnell
Just check your gpu usage while gaming, even you will see it probably.
