Can't view router settings

So my router is a Linksys WRT110 and I can connect to the internet fine through it (at least through an ethernet cable). When I'm trying to use wifi, however, the connection drops from time to time and from the research I've done, I believe it has something to do with the MTU setting. So I try to access my router settings and I can't. My router's IP is 192.168.1.1 and if everything is working well, I can just type this into the address bar of a browser and I can see the router settings. The thing is I can't. I can ping 192.168.1.1 and tracert 192.168.1.1 through command prompt just fine. I've also tried using https://192.168.1.1/ because I thought it might have something to do with a secure connection, but that didn't work either. Any suggestions?

I remember for one wireless router i used to have, i had to actually use static ip settings frmo the manual, then the 192.168.1.1 address in the browser for it to work, you should consult the manual for it.

Thanks for the input. I ended up just resetting my router and that did the trick. Had to set it up all over again, but that was worth the hassle.
