IS that while stress testing???

I would increase the LLC to 6 or 7 and reduce the vcore to 1.359, you should get the same votlgae under load without it spiking. then it's just a case increasing the multi first before changing the vcore and if it shows sign of instability whilst running a stress test like prime blend (ie worker failed or bsod) then increse the vcore in small increments.

First work out which LLC works best for you, aim is to get the load vcore as close to the bios vcore without it spiking.

Hope that helps

EDIT: When you're the last poster in a thread, just hit the little edit button on the bottom right corner to add what you need to say. That way you don't have to double or triple post and the thread doesn't really have to reach 10 pages etc lol

thanks man!

yes 60 is under load

how do i tell if its spiking?
with vcore at 1.42 and LLC at 4 at idle my vcore shows 1.428 and under load 1.392

i did what you said and put LLC at 6 and vcore at 1.359 and on a 46 multi i am getting 1.38 vcore in idle and 1.392 under load

im going to say LLC 5 is the best as it is 1.356 under load...

48 multi with vcore at 1.41 vcore... goin for 50 multi...

any ideas?

also any idea how to take bios screen captures? i know the uefi can. not sure about gigabytes though

Woah okay lets slow down for a minute....

Spiking is when the votlage under load is higher than the BIOS voltage.

Indeed level 5 seems to work better, it's close to what is set in the bios but more importantly doesn't go up. Test with prime blend each time you change a settng in the BIOS, either negative or positive effect would take place, it helps if you note it down. Slow down and take your time

ok i have done blend tests all the way up t 47 and while doing the 48 multi blend test i get bsod 124. i thought it was stable earlier but i was doing wrong test. i am using a 1.43 vcore at the 48 multi and still bsod. is there not other specs to change to help the overclockabilityt and keep vcore down? i havent yet had any temp concerns as at idle i havent been above 43 even with a 1.51 vcore

im sorry about goin fast... i can be impatient sometimes. i will slow down.

Why don't you start off with something a little easier like the 4.5ghz and 1.3v? try and see if you can get that stable with the least amount of vcore as possible. BSOD 124 can be related to vcore, VTT even PLL voltage.

I would recommend you read this thread thoroughly and get an idea of how tweak the voltages to find a sweet spot for both VTT and PLL voltage before concentrating on the vcore.

http://www.overclock.net/intel-cpus/...king-help.html

Unfortunatly all SB chips are not guarenteed to overclock to 5ghz, however using the method above will help determine the potential of your chip. If after tweaking the VTT and PLL voltage, increasing the vcore above average for a certain multiplier it stil not stable then it's safe to say that it just won't do it. I have seen some that can't even overclock past 4.6/4.7ghz.

Hope that helps Remember overclcking requires patience, if you want the best results then unfortunatly you will have to work a little harder and be patient.

ok starting new OC from 45 multi:

45 multi
LLC 5
vcore 1.356
c1e disabled
c3/c6 disabled
thermal monitor disabled
eist disabled
pll 1.8

starting vtt runs

i did as recommended in other threads and set ccl to 200 and tdp to 200

vtt seems to be most stable around 1.15
pll seems to be best around 1.83

going to try 46 multi....

BSOD code 101 upping vcore

46 stable at 1.37
47 multi now....
unstable bsod 101 upping vcore
47 stable at 1.395

48 multi...

BSOD code 124 uppin vcore...

keep getting bsod several minutes into prime 95. 124 all the way up to 1.45 vcore...
