Question for security folks on OCN - Page 2

From my experience, if there are more then 3 trojans/viruses on the pc, just format it. Impossible to clean it all up and get it working as well as it used to.

Although I'm lazy, and tend to format after 1 infection too biggrin.gif

Problem is, a lot of regular users have prebuilts and don't keep track of their os discs.... They don't update anything and basically do things that seem to invite trouble.

I'll probably end up burning .iso's and nuking things when it looks too bad. After saving as much of their stuff as I can.

This might not completely solve your problem but what I have done in the past is tether from my wireless cellphone in case they have a wireless card installed or a lot of them have laptops. It at least allowed me to get online to download updates etc.

Wow. That's a great idea. Hmm, I never even would have thought of that--then too I don't even know what I'm doing around pc's half the time. Pretty slick there.

I have a lappy that I never use, might try that and see if I can figure something out.

A Rep to you good sir.
