How to install this fan and controller?

I had this left over from a build I just did and was going to try it out. Its a Rosewill RFX-BL 120mm fan and controller.

In the pic there are 2 sets of connectors. The molex and the 2nd smaller set. The smaller set has 2 wires coming from the controller. 1 says "hook to motherboard" and the other says "to fan". What I am wondering is if I use the smaller set with the "to mobo" and 'to fan" wires do i still have to use the molex?

No, it's either/or.

Just don't use one of the Speed controlled fan headers on your motherboard for the small wire.

ok thanks, just wanted to be sure. The only fan header I have free on my mobo is the "cha fan". Cha fan isn't speed controlled is it?

Yes, use that CHA_Fan header. And it is not speed controlled by the motherboard, at least not with Asus Fan Xpert utility.

See pic below taken from the User Manual.
