4870x2 Woes

Will try make this as detailed as possible so you know what i've tried

Got a 4870x2 recently, to replace my 8800 Sli cards. Put it in and it doesn't post or so I thought until I saw the HDD light going off loading windows so the mobo is still functioning fine just there is just no display.

On cold boot the card fan spins at full speed with 3 of the diagnostic lights on, then the fan slows to normal and the lights disappear, which is the normal behavior so the lights aren't indicating any faults.

Any ideas?

Specs:
CPU - e8400
Mobo - P5N-D
Mem - 4xGB DDR2 Ram
PSU - Corsair TX750w
LCD 1 - Samsung 22"
LCD 2 - Phillips 15"

Things I've tried:
Cmos clear
Different PSU's 550w(Silverstone), 750w quad rail (FSP Aurum), and 750 single rail (TX750w)
Dip switch on the card that sets it to pci 1.0 rather than 2.0
Ensured all connections are correct
The other PCI-E slot
Ram sticks in different positions and individually.
One LCD in either DVI port

DOA Card. Happened to me last year when I bought 3 from TD for $99 each

What I suggest doing is putting in one of your 8800s in the main slot, then the 4870x2 in another and see if windows detects it. That could see if the card is bad.

Don't have the 8800GT's but I'm picking up a 6600GT in a few hours. I'll see if the card is detected.

Tried the card in another PC, works just fine. Any idea why my P5N-D won't boot this card? Could it be nforce related, I have seen evidence of other people running this card with my board just find though

Try clearing the CMOS. Likely won't do a thing, but it may get the mobo to cooperate.

Might have not been all the way snug in the slot or power cables might have not been in all the way?
