Mixing two sets of memory with different timings?

Thread Starter
Currently I have this memory running in my computer http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231352, I was looking on the egg for another set and they are all sold out. Is it possible to mix them with something like http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231247

I know the difference is in the timings but not sure how that would effect the overall performance of my system.

Does newegg have a different brand with the same timings? I think if you stay the same you will have better results; brand shouldn't matter.

I'm running both corsair and g.skill on a 1155 mobo with no problems, but they have the exact same timings...

I'm looking through there atm. Only grip will be it will look different, suppose I could get new heatsinks for them all to match.

You can mix them. You have to use the slower timings for all sticks of ram.

Yes, you can use them together. You may have to play around with the voltages and might be able to overclock the looser timings to match that of the quicker timings and be stable.

The egg has that set for $299 but it's 6 sticks. I'm thinking I'm going to look for a similar set and just change all the heatsinks to something like http://www.performance-pcs.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=54_43&products_id=21658 or http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835186044
