You said this 4-core Zambezi leak score was real. FX4xxx faster than I7-2600K.

Now you're saying that your cousins Zambezi 8-core score is lower than 2500K?

Please explain.

The BD lineup now requires a pricing premium and offers sub-par performance for that premium.
didnt intel just release a fix for there onboard video. after a year of being used it was somehow neglected to the point that the update improved performance 30%. that shows that stuff released may not be fully utilized.

there is a distinction between what was needed to be done with intel procs and optimization and what amd needs to do for their cpu..

they need to sprinkle magical fairy dust on it, and chant incantations inorder for it to preform comparable to their intel counterparts..

pros however are the same as with Phenom II.. no cold boot.. scaling under cold. (i understand for general consumers this doesn't matter)

but they also added ability to clock higher on normal cooling conditions vs older phenom II.

so there is some bright spots

That's why ATi's prices went up 30% after its release right?

Errr......what? Identical you say? Lets have a look shall we?

Ok so at stock speed,

MIN. difference: 6.7% better than 2600K; and 8.9% better than the 2500k.
MAX. difference: 6.1% better than 2600k; and 7.4% better than the 2500K.
AVG. difference: 3.8% worse than 2600K; and 1.4% better than the 2500K
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now lets look at overclocked results:

Min: 17.4% better than the 2600K; 13.1% better than the 2500k.
MAX: 17.2% better than the 2600K; identical to the 2500K.
AVG: 5.2% better than the 2600K; 5.8% better than the 2600K.

It's interesting how the 2600k actually loses performance when overclocked.

Regardless, as you can clearly see, they're not identical performers.

Benchmarks are not valid until after release I thought? That is what I've read about 14,713 times on OCN the last few days. BF3 is in beta so you can't use it. Plus if you are over 40fps...3fps or so is the margin of error. Unless you can tell me that you get the same exact results every time you run a bench on your system. In every other hardware test it would universally accepted that those results were limited by some other piece of hardware since they are so similar.

And I say again...a beta version of a game could easily account for the results too...especially when the 2500k beat the 2600k by a few fps(though I bet it is more to do with an unstable OC). Plus under the law of statistics you have to throw out the best and throw out the worst. BF3 is probably the best right now as far as gaming goes. I am not even sure what to pick to throw out the worst...it could be one many.

Are there any CFX or SLI benchmarks. Testing CPUs in games they better have 2-3 GPU to simulate how future prof the CPUs are. Even X6 can handle most single GPU just fine.

Makes a lot of sense. AMD's business model would NEVER push a CPU that performs 30% less than last generation at 1.5X the price.

now this is a serious question. since when has any cpu beat another cpu(with 2x's as many cores) in a multi threaded task? i have never seen a test where a dual core beat a quad in something that used all the cores. To me, in my honest opinion, it seems like bulldozer is not being fully utilized. not that its underpower. If it was underpowered, it would be loosing in all tests, not just some of them. it seems like some of the test are more optimized than others.

Trying to explain myself better. in a bunch of tests it scores worse than the 2500k, then in some others it scores better than a 2600k, how is that possible unless the testing is not using the full power of the cores? Ohh, BTW, im not talking about single threaded performance. im talking about multi threaded where it looses to the 2500k and then somehow wins in others against the 2600k.

yes i would also like to know why he claimed what he did,the graphs his cousin sent him dont make a FX-8150 look too good,it barely keeps up with a quad core 2500K,yet all we heard from him was "dont believe the leaks i have seen real performance figures and BD is a winner" type stuff

someone on XS posted that there was an error in coding for fx procs in linux and the error should exist in windows... he also said that it could have decreased performance up to 15% so yes.. there is some optimization that will be done/needed

however.. it still will be slower vs i5 and i7s.. hoping it will be slightly faster than the phenoms though
