I mean its at the same performance level as the BD and since BD is a piece of crap then the 2500K should be too, right?

Think before you post.
Look at the benchmarks.

2500K > Bulldozer in most cases. That's why I want the 2500K.

Use common sense.

I'm not. I sold my Phenom II X4 955 BE before it devalued any more and I've been waiting to drop a chip in.

I want to know how this is fail? Do you guys realize how much further AMD just came? If you were expecting it to beat out intels chips, then I am sorry, you were meant to be disappointment. I would like to believe I was not alone in believing this way?

Bulldozer was meant to catch up to intel, which it did, it was not meant to beat them. If you believed anything else you were trolled.

Seriously?

AMD sent out their sample chips over a month ago!

Do you all really think that all these Reviews were just suddenly generated overnight on the very moment the chip goes Retail?

It was published right here on OCN, though I don't recall where it was or what thread exactly, but the article was published here stating that AMD had sent out some 1200 sample chips for reviewers and manufacturers to test...

Therefore, most of these Reviews were done, a month ago; using those sampled chips... they just weren't allowed to publish their results until now, likely due to signing some NDA with AMD.... and its very likely that the FX Chips on Retail now, have had some performance improvements added to them.

I would think it might be a bit more important to wait a little longer for all this "review dust" to settle; and wait until more people have these chips and start putting them through more every day use... and maybe some more updated Reviews show up from more every day users.

..and no, I'm not trying to defend AMD here, just trying to look at this logically.
Hah...a month ago, that's funny. I'm sorry to say it man, but you have no idea what you're talking about. All of us had very little lead time to write these, much less than we normally do actually. I had our Sandy Bridge chip almost a month before the review published, same with previous Thubans; but not with Bulldozer, probably because they were tweaking everything up to the last minute.
  • These chips arrived in reviewer's hands - at the earliest - 12 days before the reviews published, some even less if they weren't extremely quick confirming their shipping address.
  • There were maybe two dozen sample chips sent to reviewers. Obviously manufacturers already had them before we did.
  • The chips sent to reviewers are the same steppings people are buying at the stores right now.
  • The BIOS used is the most recent (0813) available currently on ASUS' web site.

The 2500k is also much cheaper than this chip will be. I got my 2500k at frys for 160, that beats the crap out of this chip as far as price/performance goes.

I bought my 2500k back in April when I was still deciding to see if I should wait for Bulldozer. Glad I made that decision. For those gamers who already bought a 990x board and disappointed with bulldozer performance, why not wait till Ivy bridge come out and then upgrade? I see no reason to upgrade your rig unless there is a game you cannot play smoothly with your current PC...

So basically AMD decided to lower IPC for more cores instead? Shouldn't it have been the other way around?

Only if they wanted to beat Intel.

j/k
