That's garbage. That has to be complete garbage. There is no way microcenter sells anything for a loss, they have absolutely horrid prices. Newegg has a better price on every thing I have ever even thought about buying (nearly), and there's no way newegg isn't making a new profit. You can't sustain a business with out profit. That's off topic anyways. To make this on topic, I'm surprised Newegg is already out of stock on the 8150 and has pricing higher than tiger direct's on it.

I mean its at the same performance level as the BD and since BD is a piece of crap then the 2500K should be too, right?

Think before you post.
Are you blind? BD is no where near 2500k performance. I guess fanboys just want to see what they want to see. In most scenarios, the FX-8150 is even slower than the i5 2400, while having a 500MHz clock speed advantage and a 4.2GHz turbo compared to the lowly i5 2400 with a 3.4GHz turbo. Not to mention the FX-8150 is 8 cores. BD is just plain garbage.

But yeah, I agree. I'd like to see this thing tested on a few other boards, particularly Gigabyte and MSI to see if the results deviate from the standard Asus board that was used.

The thing is though... Asus isn't particularly known for having poor boards or poor BIOS from my understanding.

What? Microcenter is an absolute loss leader in the CPU market. That's their strategy - get you in on a $180 2500k and sell you the rest of their Bullcrap

From my understanding, Piledriver, which is AMD's next iteration of Bulldozer, will only give an estimated performance increase of 10 percent and even with that revision, 10 percent still leaves the Bulldozer line relatively unimpressive. The 10 percent increase is taken directly from AMD slides.

That being said, I don't know what a new stepping and revision would have to do with current motherboards indicating different levels of performance on the same chip.

Thats why its in store only. You go in saving a bunch of money and you are more likely to buy a graphics card or something else on impulse with the extra weight in your pocket and the product in your face.

Looks like FX is doing ok to me.

Those looking for a reason to not buy the latest greatest processor will find one.
