I'm not sure why they didn't use a 2500K in the review instead of the 2500K. Results would have been identical
Doesn't that answer your question? Since they're identical, they can use either of the two?

OK, SB is faster in this benchmark, but this "faster" does not translate into an improved user experience.

That's fine, then show off the eyefinity benchmarks. Just saying, the graph used by the OP shows that at those resolutions, gameplay experience would be identical for users of either platform.

It also shows that you will have to replace your gpus sooner if you insist on keeping the same cpu and want to have the best performance in newer titles vs using a 2600k.

We've again opted to use both our processors here today at their maximum overclock. While some may argue it's unfair for AMD as clock for clock Intel is already faster, others will argue that it's unfair for Intel to be clocked down because the AMD can't clock as high.
If you're going to go with one of these setups, you're going to want to clock it as high as you can and that's the reason we're using our i7 2600k @ 5.2GHz verses the FX-8150 @ 4.76GHz.
Partially agree, but they at least could've set one page aside to show both performing at the same clock speed.
