I operated a manufacturing business for a decade or so, and I can tell you from experience that having higher demand than you can keep up with is a heck of a lot better position to be in than being able to crank out lots of products that are not wanted.
Uhh, it's not that's there's a high demand for them. They just haven't produced enough because they've delayed BD for so long.

Hardly any UK or EU suppliers have them because AMD haven't produced them for that long to create reasonable stock piles. Thus is why there's won't be much here until the 24th.

AMD are just slow. There aren't in too much demand.

It's obviously meant to compare two processors at their peak performance, I don't get how that's hard to see. We already know IPC is better for Intel, what additional knowledge will you gain by having them at the same clocks? This is a much more realistic situation - most of us will overclock to a certain limit and then evaluate performance from there.

This article is nothing more then a performance overview of all four processors released yesterday. So this article is basically a big performance chart, for the architecture specifications and conclusions we urge you to read our AMD FX 8150 review. This article is a performance overview.

The processors added into the chart are the eight core AMD FX 8120, the six-core AMD FX 6100 and the four core AMD FX 4100.
All i can say now is: mmmmm

I know there is a BD thread with all links, but this is the 1st one with 6 and 4 core BD. So i wanted it to be separate. Mods can merge it.

If a specific # in a benchmark is all you are after, then know this about yourself and stop using this specific (personal) need, as a want for the populace.

It is irrational and ignorant.

"Joe Public" will be served by this BD, as much as SB over the next 2~4 years. But, If you change CPUs more often than this & somehow delude the fact that BD is a bust, because next year something better is coming, then understand you are once again a special human being, with special & personal needs.

But you should also know about your specialness and taper your post accordingly.

If you are not special and do not care about the arbitrary, then run any 3 benchmark at once and get back with "Joe Public"... because that is how people abuse their systems. With 20 animated icons, different mouse pointers, Active desktop, minecraft, farmville BOTH running. Plus, the ambiguous Windows Tray full of cute things, etc.

Real life benchmarking?
Benchmark after any 13 girl has had the computer after 6 months.. no fresh install of the OS. Then see what architecture can handle the OS.

Or, you can get a 6-pack, some Vaseline, etc.. and run Cinebench all night and call all of your buddies, to partake on how special you are & how special your rig is.... after just formating the C drive 1h before .

That is about as fake as real world benching can be (for "Joe Public").

I dont understand this!!! the fact is that SB is capable of max dual 8x then how the hell did they manage to beat BD which actually has dual 16x pcie capabilities... This is absolute crap!!!
SB is capable of only 20 pcie lanes.. whereas BD is 32+.. Now please explain how this s**t is possible!!

So you would argue, at this point in time, that BD is a good value upgrade for those who already have PII x4 or x6 Thubans? Would you argue that it's the best value for this average home user you describe who is looking for a new pc? I sure hope not. This is an ENTHUSIAST chip, marketed to ENTHUSIASTS. Your argument is baseless - the average home user would see little difference between any current cpus. So you can tell "joe public" to buy and 8-core cpu - I'll tell them that a quad core PII for half the price will offer a user experience that is probably indistinguishable for half the price. That is real life

the only thing bulldozer beats sandy bridge at is encoding and archive compression / decompression.

my goodness, what in the world is going on with AMD. I really wanted BD to live up to its name, but given how pathetic these results are, the bottleneck is the CPU people. The 170+ page thread of doom proves that without doubt
