I still don't understand why stock prices are up 25% after BD launch. Shouldn't they be going down?

If the overclocks weren't both reached using similar methods then I agree with you. If they were going to OC them they should've used similar or identical heatsink/fan combos, outside of a case, or in the exact same type of case, and see how high they could go. As a customer that's the exact kind of review I care about: If I buy this CPU, what's the best it will do on air.

Exactly!

That's kind of what I did with my guide and put up a thread taking requests for benchmarks people want to see. Will be working through them again next week after the ln2 event.

in a way you could argue that it only shows that you don't need a lot of CPU "horsepower" to game, but I have the feeling that some people do it deliberately because some people love to compare CPU when CPUs are irrelevant from a certain point (more performance = useless),
to makes the inferior product look good,
but you could always look at more reviews and consider these when you are about to buy your gaming CPU,

one stands out, cheaper than the FX and faster (2500k)
so at worst it is as good as the FX, at best, much faster, for less money.

That had to do with AMD "fusion" series namely "Brazos" and the following "Llano" lineup for the integrated graphics.

So far whatever gaming benchmarks you posted were gpu bottlenecked. Those from Overclockersclub for instance clearly show GPU bottleneck. They use max settings in games and single 6970. So all cpus are within couple fps from each other:
bad company 2
Attachment 233638

civilization V
Attachment 233639

AvP
Attachment 233640

Same story with hardwareheaven review.

Whatever review used lowered settings has clearly shown BULLdozer laging behind.

It did however show good performance in several non gaming benchmarks.

You obviously have no idea what u r talking about, or maybe just pretending, for instance do u know from where all these tech websites get most of the hardware they review? They get Egeneering Samples of them FROM MANUFACTURERS FOR FREE. One more time - whether its AMD cpu or INTEL cpu or new bitfenix case or new videocard, they receive them from the manufacturer. This is what they thank them for. Or maybe you think they bought BD samples before they even appeared in the stores?

Stop posting nonsense.

So does Bulldozer officially suck? I wasn't around yesterday. But saw some stuff on the 11th, disappointing.
