And by the way, check out my second computer, that I upgraded the motherboard for specifically Bulldozer. I'm just as disappointed as all the AMD fangirls. I buy either brand determined on price/performance and Bulldozer offers neither over previous Phenom II models and especially Sandy Bridge.
That's to be expected though. IPC on bulldozer is lower, so the clocks have to be higher. Since the clock speed isn't that much higher (if at all), BD just loses to Deneb and Thuban. Sort of embarrassing for AMD's 3 year old architecture to beat their newest one.

Anyway the 8-core BD comes close to competing with Intel's best quads. I guess that's good? Doesn't really beat a 2600k multithreaded even (well, 20% on occasion, with double the transistor count)
lol you'd need a golden Q6600 for 4Ghz.

Many top out at 3.6 24/7 OC on air.

Im still not 100% convinced BD cannot improve with Bios updates. When I Bios comes out that seems to be more targeted for the cpu then I will concede defeat.

His argument was for said person overseas still using a B2 board, and it is true in his case.

Also, Intel did you say that you WILL undoubtedly have problems in exactly 3 years 100%.

How is that to be expected? It's a brand new CPU architecture, why would IPC decrease compared to the previous gen. Furthermore you have JF-AMD swearing up and down that IPC would increase (see my signature, that was posted on XS but he also posted on here). You would expect newer architecture to be faster and more efficient; not slower and higher power draw. I really don't understand why anyone is even defending BD. It really is terrible and you've also got AMD lying on their youtube channel comparing the 980x (EOL CPU lulz) to BD in cinebench when it's actually the 2500k. Instead of correcting the video they lock the comments...

Not to mention, when you look at the end of the video where they show the spec for all the systems tested, you see that they use 1066 and 1333MHz memory for the Intel systems and 1600MHz for the AMD systems and then compare the results only when BD wins. They're all over the board hand picking bench results. One minute they're comparing it to a 2500k, then a 2600k and so on...
