The FX-8150 was faster than the Core i5-2500K in only a few situations, and the performance difference was not so high as to justify the higher price you will have to pay to bring this new AMD processor home. So, unless you are a die-hard AMD fanboy, we think it is hard to recommend this CPU. The Core i5-2500K is cheaper and provides a higher overall performance, and is the CPU we recommend for the user looking for the best price/performance ratio is the USD 200 - USD 220 price range. And if you really want performance, you can pay a little more and get the Core i7-2600K."
That may be true for someone buying a new rig, but what about the folks who could drop in the new CPU without any other expense? I doubt you even read the article and compared the numbers.

I read all 18 pages.

If you are not looking to build a new rig but only update a current AMD based rig, you might gain some value from BD. BD beats the 1100T in several benchmarks, but also performs below the 1100T in a few. If your current rig has a lower performing CPU than the 1100T, you can definitely gain some value but you'll have to weigh the value you'd gain over upgrading to an 1100T and the extra $90 for the FX8150. If you're currently running an 1100T, you'll have to weigh the pros and cons of pulling out your 1100T and dropping in an FX8150 for a price tag of ~$280 (according to the article).

Why would you do a review based on that?

Review site's job:
- Show the performance numbers.

Your job:
- Figure out if worth it.

If a $240 8150 is better for you than a $180 2500k + $140 mobo, then that's cool! That's your decision to make though, the review site just needs to provide you with the information to make that choice.

I am kind of sad to see bulldozer do so poorly in the benchmarks. It really isn't THAT poor a performer, but the price and comparison between the price and performance of sandy bridge just makes it look that much worse. Hopefully a revision will make it a better option in the future.

your edit makes much more sense.

try to leave the original comment with an EDIT: flag though,

I'm also hoping for a revision. Benchmarks arn't everything, so I'll be waiting...
