Just reading through the vortez and HardOcp reviews and it looks like our old friend OBR was right all along, this thing stinks big time.

Sadly it looks like AMD have thrown in the towel and we're all going to pay for it.

Surely this will go down as one of the epic fails in tech history?

I'm interested to see el gappos review. At least I have faith in his clocking abilities.

The Phenom II X2 is better than the E8400

The Athlon II X3 is better value than the Pentium G6950

The Athlon II X4 is on par with a i3 1st gen until its overclocked, except u can get an X4/motherboard for the price of 1 i3

The Phenom II X4 is better than a Q9550 for the value

The Phenom II X6 was on par with the i7 920,especially for gaming. but the i7 can handle higher end GPU setups alot better.

AMD got its ass kicked when Sandy Bridge came out, up until that point it was competitive except for 2008.
AMD was never in pair with Intel especially Core i Series. Unless the game was all GPU bound and running @ 1600p plus then yes. 920 destroys x6 in gaming and multi-gpus.

Anandtech still hasn't released their benchmarks... and I remember they were one of the firsts to discover the CPU-NB relation to performance with overclocking...

Only time will tell. I hope this is true, then maybe Bulldozer wont be a COMPLETE failure.

No, because they tested against stock Sandy Bridge systems. I know people here on the forums are going to get these CPUs and overclock the crap out of them and we'll see results more in line with what we were expecting, but that doesn't change the fact that Bulldozer's IPC is down from Phenom II. Which is saddening.

The overclocker's club review whenever it comes should be good. They seem to grasp the concept that AMD mobos need to be overclocked along with the CPU in order to get good results.

I remember writing in my sig that BD would suck, and I received an infraction for "not having proof" Well, I do have to admit that was childish. I should think more of people.

Well, AMD has screwed us over in more ways than one...I guess they could not say outright that the BD is not going to compete with even a 1100T P II. I guess JF AMD could not say that as he is part of the company...

But what about the other stalwarts on the many forums across the globe who gave all of us the false hope that something good was coming out of this ...I really dont know what to say, other than that the lying and deceiving was a bit too much...

I have been using AMD setups since 1998 and this is probably going to be my last...sorry AMD, but the way this has been handled was just not done.....RANT done...back to the real world now.
