[Official] AMD Bulldozer Reviews Thread - Page 66

One test I've yet to see is a VM test. I would imagine it would work pretty good with VMs... And also when W8 comes out.

Any news of how Linux handles it?

with the whole theory about windows 8, SB-E and Ivy will be out when that releases, so BD will be failing even more by then.

All I can say is that AMD failed big time here, what a major disappointment, was planning on getting one but not anymore.

I saw some W8 benches, and they didn't look promising. Most under 5%.

But I still wait for VM tests... Per the bulldozer architecture, it looks like it will eat up VMs. Until patches are out to optimize Windows for bulldozer, maybe VMs will be the way to maximize performance? Just spit-wadding here...

Up to 56x OCL Perf Mandelbrot performance (???). I guess its good for anything that needs FMA4. Pretty much AMD just needs to get a game developer to heavily favor FMA4. It's probably a bit too future-proof as it is, since Intel wont use FMA4 for a couple years.

Dissappointed to say the least. Was hoping it'd atleast be competitively priced, but even that is debatable.

I'm getting i5-2500k :/
