I feel some of your disappointment but I really think any game that uses all 8 cores will do quite well and probably end up ahead of the 2500K. All is not lost, it's up to the devs to use it and make BD something worth buying for future software and games.

Unimpressive single threaded performance was almost a given from the beginning. Multi-threaded performance is what will make or break the CPU for nearly everyone except gamers, who are such a small portion of users that they may as well be irrelevant.

Multi-threaded performance compares well to Intel chips in the same price range, and that why I do not see these results as a failure.

Holy balls, that's a performance increase.

Equals or beats 2500K in a lot of the multithreaded tests.

Topping out at 5 GHz is decent, but I'm not sure 1.6 V is healthy for a 32 nm CPU. Wish I understood the article.

Depending on the price, this is a good alternative to the i5's.
