[Official] AMD Bulldozer Reviews Thread - Page 92

The problem lies with AMD went with gpu style, simpler core and more. Just cpu software developement didnt really went the same way as gpu did....

Even intel is working on cpu that is AMD style with lots of cores but simple ones, just as a prototype. I have to agree intel has far more financial backbone to work on stuff like these, just look at their larrabee, they can make something that cost they millions and not release it, AMD cant they nearly announce they are bankrupt not too long ago if they didnt split and form GlobalFoundries.

that's because the general consumer has no idea what ipc is.. nor do they have any clue which processor is actually faster clock per clock. They just think "oh 8 'true' (not) cores must be better than 4c/8t"

With misinformation like this?

I don't see how they wouldn't fool masses, if not, investors with.

Yea, I was amazed too. Ha! This was the first thing my wife asked me when I told her how bad BD was doing, she wanted to know the stock prices!

And how can anyone holler bullcrap on the benchmarks? I like HardwareCanucks reviews. Maybe not the best, but I do enjoy them and they are thorough enough for me. I use WinRAR, 7zip, and alot of x264 encoding. BD just sucks. Even overclocked, it sucks. They measured something like 550W draw at the socket with it OC'd, thats insane for the crappy performance it achieved.

My lady wants to know what I want for Xmas and the 2600k is on the top of my list now, goodbye AMD, it was fun while it lasted.
