another thing is that, if ever amd went down the drain then it will mean disaster or doomsday for intel guys....intel prises are kept in check by amd.....if amd goes down then intel will become a dictator.......and that won't be good for any geek.........

i hope bd sells well........

I swear in this thread I've seen people just refuse to look at the results. Yes BD is a let down because it's not a huge leap forward and consumes a larger amount of power. Doesn't mean you Intel fanboys have to start trolling here saying it's an complete failure and that AMD should bottom out. All you're going to do is bring out the AMD fanboys and start a flame war. We don't need that.

Thank you,
Rookie1337
I think a lot of the trolls trolling AMD are the AMD fan boys.

But yeah...I think I'd vote for this thread to get a sticky in the hardware news section and get closed. I think every one has gotten thier disgust out. Plus there is the AMD CPU section to complain in.

Awesome benchmark pics. Great performance. Look thick. Solid. Tight. Keep us all posted on your continued progress with any new progress pics or vid clips. Show us what you got, AMD. Wanna see how freakin' huge, solid, thick and fast you can get. Thanks for the motivation.

Its inevitable though. Happens on every forum around the web.

If the 8150 dropped to about €180, it would be a very viable CPU.

I saw some benches (gaming related) where it keeps up with, and beats 2600k. These are dx11, with supposed multi-threaded rendering enabled in drivers (HardOCP).

However, I would expect similar results in Civ 5 (as this definitely utilised it) but for some reason it cannot keep up.

BD isn't a bad CPU, it just not that much better than what came before - and worse in some scenarios.

Power consumption is ridiculous for a 2011 cpu, especially considering they allegedly put a lot of time and effort into clock and power gating.

The design might work better on a smaller process node - 28nm could be where the BD design shines.

It's just like how stocks can take a hit by what briefcase the chairman of the fed brings to a media meeting. Investors look forward and will adjust even before events occur.
But investors had no real insight into Bulldozer performance other than the leaked benchmarks.

Mind you, I used the leaks and sold my shares, so maybe they all did the same a couple weeks ago and that's why the shares have been below $5 for a while now.

It's bad for Intel too, they'll probably get split up from anti-trust measures if that happened.

i'm too poor to have stocks.. my money goes towards books, food, and computer stuff, but if i was an investor.. i wouldn't sell.. i'm no expert but stocks are suppose to be long term investments which should yeild some gain over time if the company is any good at all

EDIT: my criticism is purely from the perspective of an enthusiast expecting more
