8 cores, everything unclocked, great price. There is definitely a segment of the market that wants that."

So if im understanding this correctly, the future will be much brighter for bulldozer assuming applications in the future will utilize more cores?
Definitely. It's just that the segment of the market he's referring to is not PC gamers.

I get worse performance in Dirt 3 with 4.6GHz i5 2500k than 4.0GHz i5 750.

All my lingering concerns about purchasing a SB too soon have been laid to rest. As for people who are still somehow surprised about this, the only thing I have to say is that you guys should have seen this coming and it is reality not a nightmare.

Heh, go read our review! LN2 results are down toward the bottom. It benched WPrime 32M @ 6.5 GHz and SuperPi1M @ 7.5 GHz. Max CPUz validation was 7623 MHz.

Back to the drawing board for AMD. Not enough mutithreaded applications out there to justify grabbing one of these. We gamers want better per core performance, not just slapping 2 more cores on an X6 thuban.

Some "complete" failure. Guys calm down and think logically. Did you really expect them to completely trounce the 2600k and the 990x? I'm just glad there's places it beats the old Phenoms. However, I'm pretty much unable to justify the power consumption results.
According to alot of folks on here. Bulldozer was supposed to DESTROY Sandy Bridge. So yes it is a COMPLETE failure.

How you may ask? Simple. It has lower IPC yet consumes nearly DOUBLE the power, it can barely hold its own in heavily threaded apps, it's damn near useless in single to lightly threaded apps, and the price is laughable per performance.

If you'd observe this thread more carefully you would know that I already posted them. Oh and he sent me those benchmarks over 2 months ago.

These are the benchmarks I had for over 2 months from my cousin.

Yes I know they're remarkably similar to Bjorn3D ones but maybe they were using the same software as my cousin.

I don't know what to say...

Wow!! I know that this is a enthusiast forum, but I thought that I would see people looking at this with "other" eyes.
On first hard look, BD is not what everyone expected, but it is not bad.

My analysis is that the BD architecture is really a "step" forward. Current software can't take the juice out of it.
You can see the potential of Bulldozer in highly threaded applications! If it was simply crap, Revewers easily adress BD beeing so bad as the Phenom II, but remember what was targeted by Phenom II? Core quads... so...
Is it so bad as everyone say? AMD is trying against current hardware made by Intel, so it is not bad at all. Single thread performance is really bad, indeed, I myself got disapointed (I wanted BD for BOINC).

I am sure that the architecture have pleanty of head room for development in future years.
I am sure AMD engineers will take every point considered by reviewers for Piledriver...

Considering that AMD only got a slice of the market ... it is an amazing result.
INTEL will manage to kill smaller CPU makers (some are almost gone...VIA?) like they did with Cyrix and so on...

Come on AMD, keep up the pace and fight for survival...

As for me, I might go for a 6100 or a 8120... depends on how things evolve in the following weeks, prices and so on...

Ok now you can flame me lol. Yah do that, flame the newbie lol lol lol

I don't see why people are in such a fussy about things. It's an 8 core cpu that handles everything more than well enough for the average persons wants/needs, and handles the multi threaded very close or better than anything else at the same price. Of course the price is a bit high right now... At least they will drop at a reasonable rate before changing the entire socket unlike the competitor who sets and leaves prices the same for a great while.

Personally, I like it. How fast do you really need to browse the web, and videogames?
Wow, a 2 frame difference is SUCH A LET DOWN! If my frames aren't at least 4 times what my monitor will display while ghosting why bother!
Seriously....

One thing I would like to see benched is micro stuttering.

The sad part about this is if they had just added two more cores to Thuban it would have obliterated these BD results...
