been searching google for a few days and now came across this forum so I decided to sign up maybe some one here can point me in the right direction. I want to over clock it to possible 2ghz or even 1.9ghz here are my specs below.

Is your CPU unlocked to allow overclocking?
Does the motherboard allow overclocking?

If not you may be able to get some kind of a performance boost from using software to change the FSB but it could be pretty unstable because it also overclocks your memory.

If it's too slow, add a SSD and some more ram.
Also I dont think those COULD overclock very well at all.

the first two questions i don't even have a answer i would say no. but i have seen a thread on here where a guy had the same atom n270 and clocked it to 2ghz and he said it can even handle more but its a old thread and i didnt want to rebump it.

I don't think you want to OC a netbook. The heat isn't good for laptops in general (not the best cooling) and it will kill the battery life, which is the only thing those atoms have going for them.

Well let me see. I have an Asus netbook with an atom n550, let me see if you can even do anything in the BIOS; I've never bothered to look.

Honestly though, the n270 is a single core at 1.6ghz, a few mhz OC isn't going to help much frown.gif

Well there was no options in the BIOS on mine, but I have no experience OC'ing mobile chips...maybe someone else will chime in.

Which netbook? My MSI Wind lets me overclock to 2.0Ghz with a single BIOS option, but it's a hit or miss if it's stable, as there's no option to increase vCore. I can barely make an hour without shutting down, so the speed is a nice increase.
