can I put 2X 230mm fans on one chanell of this fan controler?

post #1 of 4
Thread Starter
OK first the rundown. I am planing to build a system around the HAF-X but I am planing on taking out the stock fans and replacing them with 2X Bit Fenix Spectre 230mm fans on the side and front and 2X Corsair 200mm fans on the top.
I would like to control them using a 2X button fan controller. Like the Akust FanSpeeder "Dual" (for ex) I was planing on controlling both the top fans from one button/nob on a fan controller and the side/front from the other.
The Bit Fenix fans use 0.30A according to Bit Fenix website and I wrote Akust and the rep told me the controller can support up to 0.6A per channel. Does that mean I can hook the 2X fans to the one button with out blowing something up?
I am asking because allot of the controllers I was looking at went by Watts per channel not Amps and also because 1A=12V
Thanks

1 watt = 1 VA

0.30A * 12v = 3.6 watt

0.6A = 0.3A + 0.3A

hope might help you somehow...

cheers

This, A * 12V = Wattage. As long as you keep within each channels max you're fine. My Scythe controller says 1 amp per channel which basically translates to 12w per channel. It has 12 channels btw
