Here's to hoping Intel wont ramp up the cost of Ivy.

I'd be sticking with mine (my Core 2 Duo, that is) until Haswell were it not for getting a Core i5 2500K at no cost, so in order to utilize it, I'm parting with my baby. Anyone with a mid-range or better Intel CPU newer than the Core 2 series (that is, a Core i5 or Core i7 of any type, and even some Core i3s maybe) really doesn't need to upgrade, and even Core 2 Quads and Phenom II X4/Phenom II X6s are fine for many single GPU setups, but those two (the Core 2 and Phenom II) are going to start showing their age/performance a bit more.

Well, I'm glad I bought my 1100T and still have it.
I'm not ready to accept all of these reviews as being accurate since it's so early in the game to really know.
I've stated that I want to let some experienced OC'ers (Like us) have some time to figure out things with this chip and see what comes of it.
If the BD chip really is that bad, perhaps a core revision can fix that - Remember the problems that Intel had with a certain core? They were able to fix it and maybe AMD can do the same.

The biggest thing I want to throw out there is this: Has anyone had enough time benching with this new chip to truly understand what's required for it to bench well?
Probrably not and that's why I'll let time & results from such tell the true story.

Until then, I'll be happy rocking on with my 1100T.

Anyone who thinks enthusiast market has almost any effect on AMD, is a fool.

AMD is just doing fine and dandy with Llano right now. Trinity will be even more popular.

I am neither particularly surprised, nor disappointed, with the Bulldozer showing and still plan on purchasing an 8120 or 8150.

My only real concern is overclocked power consumption.

I don't think the chip can last long if it draws that much power.

I keep seeing this a lot from OCN members. So all the reviewers on the BD review thread aren't accurate?

Where do you get your information from then? They are accurate and it is what it is.

Stop saying you don't believe the reviews. They are all the same guys that review everything for us. No one is lying.

I think the review we are seeing today, are consistent with a product and software in use. I want to see some Linux benchmarks as I have a hunch that the Linux scheduler might work in favor of the type of scheduling BD needs to be successful. however that relegates it to more of a server part then a desktop enthusiasts platform.

We shall see in the coming weeks if my suspicions are correct or not.

They should concentrate their efforts on Fusion and mobile devices. There's a lot more money there than the performance desktop CPU market.

But yeah, have fun with those AM3+ you guys bought months ago for no apparent reason.
