nice job elgappo.

I found the same with CPUNB, its hard to get above 27/800. At least when above ambient.

Totally agree. It was so easy to get 4.6 GHz on a friend's 2500k rig it was not fun at all. Felt like i just set up the time and date. Also, as his video card is mediocre (single GTS 250) and no SSD, the speed boost was not felt at all (hell, my i3 rig felt faster in games). Plus my i3 was funner as i could get it faster by changing RAM

Thanks for the time to write the guide. I'm going BD in a month (letting BIOSes mature a bit more and see if BD can beat at least Thubans) and i'm picking a gigabyte mobo for cheapness. Tho not the exact same, OCing steps are the same for almost all mobos.

Just one question: do you think the 8100/8120 can OC around the same as an 8150? I'll get that or an 8100 as i want cheap 8 cores (and with a black edition CPU and OCing any speed advantage gets void)

Nice Post and El Gappo the first guide BD FX 8150 overclock.

How max setting on VRM Digi ..., But See CPU PWM Phase Control are disable, nah that is how? I did not found to disable?

How bout Regular on LLC CPU and CPU/NB ?Look temp is down but set Extreme are now high temp @40C-46C on IDLE.

Can explain what functional VRM Digi? I am still newbie

They are likely lower leakage chips and will probaly perform the same or maybe even better on air with lower temps and voltages if my thinking is right. Dunno tho, depends how they bin them.

Not sure I understood all of that but ermmm. I left it all as is, was getting big overshoot on high/extreme so just left it all alone, auto does a good job as far as I can see.

You don't want to be messing with the current protection etc. Keep it simple

Finishing spi 32m now *snores*

NB 2200

NB 2600

Now the boards only support a minimum ratio of 1:1 with the ram you have less choice about it. If it were unlinked the performance would suffer a lot more. Quite a gap as it is.

Current protection on auto is full on, you shouldn't run into ocp on air anyway.

Gappo, I am with you on the over clocking and tweaking. I would rather sit down and tweak my systems more any day of the week than play a game. When the water block goes into my PC you can bet every waking moment is spent adjusting some settings or another for benchmarks through the next week. The more of a challenge it is, the better my satisfaction is once its all done!

Thanks for the post!
