Just now running into this problem this morning, had no issues yesterday. I don't have any 'connection to game server lost' issues, but whenever I click to join a game, as soon as it tries to launch out of the main menu the game completely crashes with no error or anything, just disappears/stops running and I'm left staring at my desktop in sadness. Restarting steam and cc cleaner you say? hmm...

I'll tell ya what worked for me and I bet will work for all of you too.

Make sure you are logged in (should be easy as you cant even try to connect to servers w/o being logged in) and then log out. Don't exit the game just log out of your ea account. Then log back in. This time make sure that auto login is NOT checked. if it is already not check then check it and log in, then log back out and in again but this time uncheck it.

I don't know why but it's worked for me and I have had zero problems since.
