Looking to buy a mouse/mousepad? Read this first. - Page 12

Mousepad:

1. Hard or cloth? Hard

2. Rough or smooth? I haven't used a hard pad before, but I would prefer to start with smooth.

3. Which size approximately? I prefer the size to be as close to the size of my Taito (15.7 inches * 12.7 inches)

4. What's your maximum budget? 60 dollars.

5. Additional information: It has to work with the Taipan sensor.
Please no Razer mouse pads. I have already figured out that the hard mats won't work for me, they are to small.

Anyways

Mouse:

1. What's your grip style? Palm grip

2. What's your sensitivity? Low-medium

3. What's your maximum budget? OCN and budget? Oxymoron, provide all reasonable options!

4. Do you want additional buttons? Traditional Forward & Back buttons on the right side of the mouse, would prefer not to have buttons on the left of the mouse.

5. What games do you play? League of Legends, BF4, Titanfall (soon), SC2 (only games likely to influence mouse choice)

6. Do you mind about prediction? Less the better.

7. Other relevant information: Coming from a DeathAdder Black, and a MX518 and G5 prior to that, currently use a MX Performance at work, so used to a somewhat ergonomic feel. No Steelseries, SS Engine doesn't play nice.

Mousepad:

1. Hard or cloth? Hard

2. Rough or smooth? Prefer both, but usually rough.

3. Which size approximately? Small-Medium

4. What's your maximum budget? See above.

5. Additional information: Is using a hard pad a mistake?

If you want to go hard, you should be using a laser mouse, which will have minor positive acceleration, but less than with a cloth pad. I would go with a QcK Mass and a Naos 7000.

I prefer mousepads that give a nice, slick glide. This generally, but not necessarily, means I prefer hard mouse pads.
For reference, I find the mouse glide on the QCK to be a bit slow and cumbersome.
I don't have any size preferences and I'm willing to spend good money on a great mousepad.
Preferably, easy to clean too - I'm not a fan when dust is "caked" into the mousepad and becomes hard to remove, even with normal washing.

hmm...probably 9HD. I don't know of any hard mats other than that that have been confirmed to work with the 3310. Most hard mats I've tested have a high LOD with the 3310 in the Rival.

Mouse
1. What's your grip style?
Claw / Finger Grip
2. What's your sensitivity?
Low
3. What's your maximum budget?
Not a problem
4. Do you want additional buttons?
Side buttons
5. What games do you play?
Shooters
6. Do you mind about prediction?
Yes
7. Other relevant information:

LOD: preferable low
ambidextrous shape: I don't care
weight: light
wireless: Wired
non-braided cord: I don't care
glossy finish: matte or rubber
button activation force:
driverless: I don't care
onboard memory: I don't care
I don't like leds

My list from top priority to low of what I want in a mouse:

"Perfect" Sensor (Low Sensitivity)
///////////////////////////////////////////
LESS THAN OR 450 DPI*(1)
///////////////////////////////////////////
Weight: Light
Wired, Side buttons (at least one)
Claw / Finger Grip (Matte/Rubber)

(1)
I own a CM Storm Spawn and I was happy with it, but since December my favorite shooter had an update and now the game won't let me slow the mouse sensitivity, I already tried everything and buying a new mouse is my last hope. I know the Spawn has a DPI step of 800 but is not enough for me.

Mousepad
7. Hard or cloth?
cloth
8. Rough or smooth?
smooth
9. Which size approximately?
30cm x 20cm
10. What's your maximum budget?

Mionix Avior 7000 and QcK Mass.

I own the Avior so feel free to bombard me with any questions.

Thanks! biggrinsmiley.gif

That mouse looks really nice and promising. It does weights 20gr more than the Spawn though.

Unfortunately there aren't any very light mice with the 3310 sensor. My specs on a mouse are very similar to what you are looking for, that's why I ended up with the Avior. It is my daily competitive-style BF4 mouse, and I love using it way more than any other I've ever owned over the past 7 years of playing multiplayer FPS games.

I think the Scarab or Destructor might be rough. I only have experience with the MM400 and it's a good pad for laser mice, the glide is smooth anc very fast but the surface is rough. It's worth a shot. It helps decrease the inconsistent positive acceleration in the mouse too

I would trade it in and get a Mionix Avior 7000, then switch to larger cloth pads along with that. Much better setup, especially if you play any FPS games.

the last time I tried the MLG it had horrendous input lag.
