I haven't had an AMD since the Athlon 64. Intel have left AMD for dead from Conroe onwards. I can't see anything changing in the future either.

Don't forget, Intel will have Ivy Bridge out next year which is supposed to be 20% faster than Sandy Bridge. Bulldozer is a massive fail imo.

Bulldozer is a massive letdown and that’s the general consensus. Go QQ more guys. I’m not mad, but we’ve all be speculating this for the past month with all the “leaks”.

All you guys are freaken out ..

Let me have my say , AMD's bulldozer will be a great cpu for gaming theres no doubt about that .. it will perform on par with the 2600k

Everyone comparing it to a 2500k ? the FX is an 8 core processor , it would beat the 2500k in many instances .

Theres no official benchmarks , nobody has on yet .. not on here .

Theres no proof that it wont be awsome , until we can get out hands on one .. be realistic , why do you think its been delayed for so long ? they're working hard on this it will be good dont worry .

I prefer intel anyways ofcoarse , but im not going to lie .. i would love a new build with an FX cpu =) 8 cores @ 4.5Ghz + with a pair of 6990's

If A: No that would be kind of pointless.
If B: I won't upgrade til December at least and no idea what I'll upgrade to til about 1-2 weeks before I do it. May go AMD, may go Intel. Depends on such variables as price, my budget at the time etc. etc..
Also for those people saying "AMD should quit making processors" etc. think of how much more Intel chips would cost you without some form of competition.

AMD took 4/5 years to do what Intel took 2 years to do. And when Intel outdo themselves with Ivy Bridge once again (they havent let us down in years), AMD will take another 4 years to catch up and within those 4 years, Intel would have been 6 years infront of them with a new gen of CPUs.

Here's how they stand (1155 vs FX):
Perf: Intel
Price/perf: Intel
Price/Core: AMD
Power draw: Intel by a long long margin

We need AMD to really buck up their game before Intel leaves them so far behind, they will have to fold up and we will only have Intel competing with themselves, and having the freedom to mark up the CPU prices however they want. And the BD isnt helping.

Related to this thread tho, I have 2 friends who have AM3+ partial builds, 1 of them foresaw its poor performance and sold the mobo BNIB at 90% of the retail price 2 weeks ago. My other friend tho, had faith in AMD, but you know how it went, and now he wants to go to Intel, and he is struggling to sell the AM3+ mobo (Crosshair V) @ 70% of the retail price now.

So a massive fail for AMD then! I, like many decided to get the i5 2500k, Though had hoped that Bulldozer would bring some competition to the cpu table, If only to give Intel some challenge.

Now though it seems that AMD have banged another nail in their proverbial coffin, and to think that Sandybridge E and Ivy Bridge have not shown their faces yet.
