The biggest battle is not only making CPU's that perform clock per clock with the competition it's getting the support from software developers. You only have to look at their drivers for GPU's, the gaming world is completely bias in favour of Nvidia. Nearly 75% of all games comes with Nvidia "the way it's meant to be played" advertising. AMD never gets a 2nd thought.
deus ex 3 still rockin the amd ad ^_^

I vow to never buy CPUs from AMD again .. AMD should just kill their whole CPU line already and focus on their GPUs ..
This is a ridiculous statement. Look I like both. Intel and AMD are GREAT processors. Most people that go buy laptops and computers say at a big box store are not usually in the market for gaming. I would even venture to say most use it for basic needs such as web browsing, doing homework, and other small everyday task. AMD is good price option for these computers (not saying they couldn't handle bigger task). It is a overkill in price with Intel in these situations. Yes Intel beats AMD in benchmarking, but when you play even high end games your processor whether it is a Intel or AMD is not even on full load. There isn't much difference other than small FPS between the both. I have no regrets in buying my AMD. When I play a highend game such as Witcher 2, I am not minimizing my game just to check for FPS rates and the such. I get on, it plays smooth on ultimate settings and that is all I care about in any game.

No.

You move on. I'm moving to Intel over the next few weeks.

Truly, I am heartbroken.
I feel ya. I was waiting on the Dozer to do my first AMD build but with the recent reviews I am likely sticking with Intel.

I bid thee a great farewell AMD... You had a good run. We shared many good times together. RIP.

currently i am using the first generation i7s, but still i wasn't disappointed that i chose intel over amd. not that i don't like amd, it was just my preference. anyway, i was kind of disappointed with the results of various benchmarks considering it fx-8150 was compared to i7-2600k. but then again, it's only my opinion. there are still amd fans who won't change their minds after these scores.

for me though, i don't really mind a difference between cpu processing power as long as i'm satisfied with the performance. i'm not actually a very meticulous when it comes to price/performance or core-performance. sorry haha pure gamer here. no time for cable management, even lol

Let me have my say , AMD's bulldozer will be a great cpu for gaming theres no doubt about that .. it will perform on par with the 2600k

Everyone comparing it to a 2500k ? the FX is an 8 core processor , it would beat the 2500k in many instances .

Theres no official benchmarks , nobody has on yet .. not on here .

Theres no proof that it wont be awsome , until we can get out hands on one .. be realistic , why do you think its been delayed for so long ? they're working hard on this it will be good dont worry .

I prefer intel anyways ofcoarse , but im not going to lie .. i would love a new build with an FX cpu =) 8 cores @ 4.5Ghz + with a pair of 6990's
lol wut?!?

Here you go. Educate yourself on their epic failure.

So I take it the AMD boards are going to:
A) Ignite into a giant ball of diappointment and rage,
B) Start slowing down,
C) All of the above.

I'm disappointed in AMD. I thought they would be much more competitive.

I made the swap with my sig rig, and I don't see myself considering AMD for the next few years.

For the past year I have been running a 1055T with an MSI board and HD 5850 (which is now a badass home theater machine). It has worked quite well actually for day to day use, and I have nothing against that processor, but I wanted something faster.

I've always liked AMD because it was the underdog and its price. By the time I can afford to upgrade the future dozers will be cleaned up. I lived through the original Athlon 1ghz which was a unstable nightmare for awhile.
