Not new news, but haven't seen it posted and figured it's noteworthy,

While our goal is to offer players alternative ways to add a Pet Store pet to their collection, we’re ok with it if some players choose to use the Guardian Cub as a safe and secure way to try to acquire a little extra in-game gold without turning to third-party gold-selling services.

So like all the other pets you can buy from their shop, this one isn't Bind on Pickup... so you can sell it on the auction house. Did I interpret that correctly?

Who gives a damn? If people wanted to buy gold... they would BUY GOLD and probably get a better value. It's when things go the other way (gold->money) that you'd have to be concerned, because official methods for that would upset the in-game economy. This is a non-factor, non-issue.

Yep, Blizzard have basically added a new pet and removed the BoP.

In the same way that Blizzard endorses gold buying and item buying in Diablo3 "via our secure channel", they've added this functionality under the guise of it's the same as loot cards.

This is just step 1.

In other news, recent reports indicate that there are still individuals that are playing World of Warcraft, a title that has required payment for about 7 years. Our studies show that individuals have paid theoretically $1200 over the last number of years on subscription fees, which have included such fringe benefits as loneliness and staying single at no additional cost. However, this being said, staying single has saved more money during this time to outweigh the cost of the subscription fee.

Stay tuned, our next report: Pokemon - Bringing Neverland to the Community. Adults who believe they never grow older after 10 when playing this title.

Don't tout your own horn too hard.

This has been possible for a long time with TCG pets/mounts which are BOE. This is just the first time it's been straight from the store, only slightly easier now.

Quite frankly, who cares, if you don't have a couple hundred thousand gold already then you're probably a noob anyways.

As I said, same as loot cards, and that's the idea - "noobs" without a few 100k can buy gold.

It's not blizzard anymore, it's viacom.

And they already ruined diablo III by turning it into a WOW clone, and now they're selling in game items too?

Yeah.... Who gives a crap. Anyone who plays WoW at a reasonable level won't be affected by this. Only people who are terrible at the game to begin with and have to do nothing but normal dungeons.

A noob with a crap load of gold never affected any player who raided on a regular basis.
