Athlon II x250 Bottlenecking - Page 2

I'd say get a new mobo, RAM and an x4 955. Try to find that used, shouldn't be difficult.

Yeah, well i figured that my CPU might be holding me back.

So a Phenom II x4 955 BE 3.2Ghz would suffice right? Then I'll slap on a CoolerMaster Hyper TX3 and change my MOBO to a better one and of course upgrading RAM to 4 GB of DDR3.

Ive been saving for that set-up but i just couldnt wait and bought the GTX 460 first - lol

But i still dont get why Witcher 2 is running a whole lot better. Im running on the 280.26 drivers. (?_?)

The explanation is that Witcher 2 is demanding enough on the video card to negate your slow processor.

I'm guess you're at a somewhat lower resolution like 1440x900 so the Phenom II will be great with that single 460 768.

Amen to that. Im just glad since ive been wanting to play this game. It ran very bad on my GT440.

Oh and Bad Company 2 runs great on it too. I get 40-55 fps with 2xMSAA with 75% GPU usage.

I guess these games are more GPU based.

Exactly. Thats the only max supported resolution by my monitor. I guess i should start and save up for a 955 BE then
