100$ mobo for a I5 2500k

is this good?

I don't really want to upgrade now but I have too for some games coming out. I was hoping to upgrade around the new PCIE slots / GTX 600 series / Ivy Bridge

btw, LGA 1155 socket won't support ivy bridge will it? If it is maybe I should look to get a slightly more expensive board.

I've always used gigabyte, so I don't know any other well known brands.

btw I'm switching from AMD to intel here, I've been AMD since 2005 but the BD release is like... It's like an insult to the users, makes me feel like I'm using an unsupported brand or something, like that FFXIV release but atleast they're communicating with the users and apologized / gave the game for free / building it back up based on user feedback

My only other intel chip has been a P2 and lol I hated that but they got good after that lol

Also hoping to overclock, does the board matter?

1155 will support Ivy Bridge. For 2500k and OC'ing you want P67 or Z68. Asus, ASRock, and Gigabyte make some decent boards. A lot of people will recommend Asus and ASRock here.

You need a P67/Z68 board to OC as stated above.

To be able to use PCIe 3.0 and Ivy Bridge processors you need to have a Gen 3 motherboard. But there are some motherboards can support it even if they're not Gen 3. The manufacturers generally make a list of those that just need a bios update

If aesthetics are important to you, don't buy this board.
