Cheap mechanical keyboard with MX Black keys?

Thread Starter
Hey guys,

I recently invested in a Filco Majestouch 2 with MX-Black keys and I really like it, its lovely to type on and I'd highly recommend it. (admittedly its primarily for gaming... perhaps I wouldn't recommend the MX-black keys to hardcore typists...)

However, my dilemma is that I want to have a similar typing experience at work - but I don't want to splash out another £100 on a keyboard for the workplace.

So I was hoping I could get some advice on which keyboard I can get with the same MX switches, but is more affordable (even if it meant compromising build quality... I don't expect it to be as good as my Filco smile.gif).

From what I can tell the cheapest option is the Steelseries 6Gv2 - however I don't want to lose the windows key (it has some special steelseries key in its place) as I use it constantly at work for Windows shortcuts.

I've been looking at some of the Cherry made keyboards but its really not clear what MX switches they use...

Ideally I'd like to spend £50ish but can splash out a bit more if need be.

Any help would be greatly appreciated smile.gif

bump. I'd be interested to hear about this as well.

Sadly idk if we could find one for that price unless we stumbled onto a good used deal.

Noppoo Choc mini is not expensive, or a Cherry.

Ya that's what I was going to say Noppoo Choc mini is probably the cheapest. Maybe a KBC Poker might be cheaper. They are both good boards though.

Noppoo is cheaper than the Poker.

PLU's are pretty cheap and I think are available with black switches.

lol this is a huge dilemma for people who own mechanicals...Once you make the switch, typing on rubber domes is horrible.

I like the build quality on my Noppoo. I need doubleshot keys though.
