Thread Starter
my motherboard supports SATA 3 6GB... but it will degrade my PCI-E from 16x to 8x.
I'm using msi 560 ti hawk. Should i buy an ssd? wouldn't it affect my gaming performance if it is only set to 8x?

From what I've seen on here and vids posted here about the subject, the difference in performance is VERY small between 8x and 16x. The stuff I saw was in regards to SLI but I assume it should be the same for a single card as both cards in SLI were running at 8x. I believe the test showed a 3 point difference in 3dmark11.

I am currently on my 4th RMA for that card. It's been 2 months AT LEAST that I haven't had a working TFII OC card. MSI has been slow to reply to me... A little peeved.

Hope you get yours worked out in a timely manner. I had one that would cause the computer to reboot in the middle of games/bench-marking, and then the computer no longer recognized the card untill I restarted again.
