That is good to know. i didn't know enough to really know if it was hardware or ****ty game code, but last night i upped my volts to 1025mv, and my clock to 925 and it seemed a lot better actually.

Well i just figured out nibitor (gave me problems) and i got to flashing my BIOS.
Let me just say it is cheats for overclocking(removing voltage limit).
If you have the cooling that can handle it and want to go higher in your overclock, it is a must imho.
Many thanks to stobeur for his help.

I will have some new scores to post tonight or tomorrow smile.gifsmile.gif

PS- If anyone needs help with nibitor or nvFlash or wants to know how to do it, send me a PM and I will help you out. It is pretty simple.

Heh. When I first drew this
338

and jumped to the 50th page of this thread (without reading the rules, natch), I got really bummed. My 1653 against the 5000s and 7000s here? What could be the problem? So after 15 minutes away from the computer, I figured out what separated the "P" and "X" prefixes.

338

Rookie mistake: I got all bull-headed and chose the X-benchmark because I always gamed in 1080p and figured anything less was for chumps.

GPU-Z validation: http://www.techpowerup.com/gpuz/zxcax/

So I'd like into this club, with my first post and first benchmark from my first rig, if that's ok.

Have a question for the collective regarding graphics cards temperatures.

Threw together a build out of spare parts the other day consisting of the following:

Intel 2600k
Phanteks PH-TC14PE_RD cpu cooler
Asus Maximus IV Extreme-Z mobo
Mushkin Enhanced Blackline 2133 (PC3 17000) Model 997015 (16GB)
2x EVGA GTX 560s in SLI 16x slot #2 & #4
1x EVGA GTX 520 (PhysX) 16x slot #1
Cooler Master HAF X case
Samsung 830 250GB SSD
Patriot 60GB SSD (swap file)
Various HDDs for storage
LG DL DVD burner

Now then, I only play WoW, normally, though I did get a key for Batman Arkham Asylum with the Samsung DVD, and I'm wondering about the temperatures of the GTX560s.

I know that SLI has a dominant/slave operating configuration, but how does that affect temperatures? Using the slots reference above, I am running a 8x-16x-16x according to Asus (the 560s are in the 16x slots)

My SLI temperatures, after exiting the game, or popping back to the desktop while the game is in the background, is running 35C and 65C respectively. SLI Card #1, the card in the 16x slot #4 is the one with the fully exposed fan intake and the one running at 35C; SLI Card #2, the one in the 16x Slot #4 seems to run at about 65C. I don't know if it's because there is little space between the cards (.5-.75" between the cards) or whether card #2 is the dominant card and that's the reason for the higher temperatures.

I'm not ducting the airflow against the cards right now, but I have the duct, or I can use the other perforated holder and put a 80mm fan into it and blow directly down.

Other than me playing with the ducting, is this temperature difference a result of the master slave configuration, and that WoW isn't that intensive so the dominant card is doing all the work, or is it really the air? Ambient temperature in the room is about 21.6C.

Thanks in advance.

it is most likely because your 560's are sandwhiched together.
when i had sli 560ti's this is how i solved my issue w/ top card suffocating.
458
you could try it with just the blue fan first but when i did to my rig w/ both fans it made temp differences almost negligible.
now i just have 1 560ti on a corsair h60.
check out the gpu mod club in my sig to see what i mean thumb.gif
