NVIDIA [GTX 560/560 Ti] OC Club - Page 78

Then its fine, mine is aleays noisy in FC3 (980/2400 default voltage), but I have custom fan profile in afterburner which is set too noisy
post #772 of 810
What is your profile?
I have set it to be minimum at 50%
From 50-70 degrees the fan ramps up 1% every 1 degree
From 70-80 degrees the fan goes from 70% up to 100% when it reaches 80 degrees
when I play bf3 @1000mHz core the fan is 75% and the GPU temp is 72 degrees
What I am worried is about the vrm

pretty simple here

start rising from:
40% at 25C degrees (40% is minimum rpm here)
50% at 50C
65% at 65C
then rising to:
100% at 80C..

update period 1000ms, hysteresis 3C

its an HAWK cooler with VRM heatsink plate, it never gets over 72C, although its noisy when under load

you can still stick some small heatsinks onto vrms, if there is a space (google may help, for example
)

560Ti is outdated now, Iam just waiting to have warranty over and getting something new.

edit: also I have case fans which are controlled through speedfan, so when GPU hits some 70C system fans are at 100% (help to get more fresh air from the bottom to VGA)

Well I need to keep my card for at least 3 more years
Do you think that running it at 1GHz will make it die sooner?

I dont think so just keep controlling temps and dont rise voltage too high. If theres something wrong it will die, regardless of rising overclock or rising voltage of 0.0nothing. to be relaxed, use some vrm and memory cooling

I remember ooold 6600GT AGP card which died after 2-3years, using it only in windows for skyping thumbsdownsmileyanim.gif

also seeing 3DMarks results differences with different drivers.

mostly updating drivers is useless for old hardware, unless you need solve troubles with current ones.

I mainly stayed behind with the drivers for when I played BF3 heavily. I kept getting weird black shapes sticking to anything I looked at. Once I reverted back to the older drivers all was well. I'll update to the new drivers today see if I experience any performance hiccups.

I really should just get a new card, but I think I might try waiting just a bit longer. Hoping I can run titanfall at the least for now.

I'm building a new computer now and i plan to keep using my dual pny gtx 560 ti 1gb cards for time being and was wondering what setting do you guys recommend i run when over clocking? I've never OC them before btw.

btw when will a new gen of cards be released?

I don't have exact numbers for you (I've only got 1 560 Ti) but I have heard overclocking is harder when running multiple cards due to SLI inefficiencies and heat issues. Also, a dual-560Ti setup is bottlenecked at 1 GB VRAM, meaning the scaling will be worse above 1080p, and with bigger textures.

Nvidia's next generation, Maxwell (GTX 800 series), should be out later this year (no confirmed release date though). They recently released the GTX 750 and 750 Ti, which is a "trial" Maxwell card on the older, 28nm manufacturing process. However, the 750 Ti is a pretty mediocre value, failing to surpass the old GTX 650 Ti Boost at pretty much any game while still costing $150. The 800 series should be on the more efficient 20nm process.

Has anyone measure VRM temps on their 560Ti's?
What is the max safe temp for VRM's?
