Okay guys & girls what do you think of RAGE the new id game.

Personally I'm a huge DOOM, Quake and Wolfenstein fan. I was brought up on them playing multiplayer games with my dad so I had big expectations for their new game RAGE. However I can't help but feel it is missing something, the id flare. Sure the character models are beautiful, animations are great, mega textures are pretty and even the game play is fun; AI diverse and missions challenging.
But for 21.5GB I can't help but think there should be more! Obliviously the textures are a bit iffy I mean they aren't great sometimes but still the game on a whole is good, creating atmospheres and really working the senses like DOOM, Wolfenstein & Quake. I mean the reaction videos of people playing DOOM3 shows how effect id can be at playing with your bravery, challenging you when you hear a groan and daring you to walk into a blatant trap.

But back to RAGE, to tell the truth as a huge fan of id it's a bit of a let down; it was fun and had a good story but I couldn't help but feel it could have been more, so much more.

It ended suddenly and then you couldn't go back (which pissed me off) like fallout 3 even though its meant to be more of a RPG than previous games. TBH it has been developed for the consoles and I can't really blame id considering how much more players there are with an Xbox or PS3 than a PC.

I just hope DOOM 4 is a step in the right direction.

I really enjoyed RAGE. I cannot remember the last time I sat through a game for over 6 hours at one time. (OK yes I do...HL 2 Series) but still, it was that good.

The way the story was laid out and progressed was great.

It was way too short though.

The online has a limited population on PC right now. (sad)

Vehicular combat...WIN

I think the game is awesome.

I think what most whiners fail to forget is that the same exact situations happened with Quake and Doom...They complained then and they're complaining now.

Graphics issues are slowly getting fixed and the gamme will get to where it needs to be.

i actually had no issues stability wise

I think its affected mainly AMD cards because my friend has an AMD card and the game didn't run till he updated

i thought the story was quite short for 21GB tbh and HATED how it stopped you from going back after it ended i saved over the save i have of before i completed it :,<

looking forward to DLC and shizz

After an hour of tinkering with the fixes id posted I got it running at 60 frames on 2560x1600 with improved textures and no pop-in or tearing. I'm having a blast with it. i'll admit the story is terrible but this game is old-school arcade style fun. So much of it is optional that you can skip much of what you don't like. I'm almost finished and my only complaint is the armored enemies towards the end. I feel like it takes a hundred bullets to bring them down, a bit silly. More games need to be like this, tight controls, solid gun-play, and let me go shoot some stuff.

Great game really having allot of fun on this, Think i'm close to finishing but i don't want it to end : ( I will definitely be playing through again on nightmare!
Hope there will be plenty of dlc for this game like new vehicles and mods, mission packs, more weapons maybe. I don't think Rage is too short its a Fps with a few Rpg elements not an actual Rpg shame because it has potential to have been a great one but yea I expected it to be a bit longer for saying it is 21gb.
Loved dead city although Giant Mutant could have given a better fight.

I like it, but it just doesn't have that "wow" factor, and it isn't very innovative either.

I agree with the lack of back story and information given when you first enter the world.

IDK if anyone else had this issue but, When I launched the campaign and the cinematic played the damn music was so loud I could not even hear the people speaking.

I have the same problem. Sometimes it is fine, but others I can't hear a thing.
