I don't know what he is talking about. I checked and as of right now there are no reviews up for any FX CPUs on Newegg. Did one go up and was taken down?

Seems like it. I saw the review just now but when I refreshed the page it was gone.

Doesn't matter, no one could have had one for long enough to write a legit review from personal experience without violating a NDA or just something up.

I mean maybe if you were using it to make money then I could see this being a point, but then you'd still be better off buying Intel. Faster, AND less power consumption.
If you keep your processor at full load all day every day, maybe.
Otherwise the impact on your power bill will be less than a cup of coffee.

The FX processors have competitive idle power consumption.

Yeah there was one up for the FX-8150 on Newegg a minute ago but looks like it's not showing now. If you look to the right side of the page though under Buzz you can see part of the review that was posted.

Worst benchmarks ever. So when you overclock, you lose performance with Intel, according to these guys.
