What is your maximum budget? 1500 tops (canadian), after shipping etc.. Would like to spend less though.

What country are you in? Canada

What will be the uses of this laptop? 90% college user (typing, browsing etc..) 5-10% gaming (if any at all)

Do you have brand loyalty or care which brands we select for you? No

What screen size do you require? 13-15 inch

What screen resolution do you require? Doesnt matter (but prefer 1600x900 and above)

Are you looking to buy NEW or would refurbished/recertified/used be okay? Doesnt matter

How long should the battery last? (Under optimal conditions, no movies/games/heavy internet) 4+ hours at a low end, anything more = plus

What games would you like to play with your laptop? And on what settings? Would probably only be games diablo 2, maybe diablo 3, maybe some BF3. Only has to play, doesnt matter what settings.

What operating system do you need? (if any) Windows (only for games, could survive on linux)

Is there a certain style of laptop you want? (aluminum, black, gaming, etc.) No

How much hard drive space do you need? 300-500 Gb, but want an SSD

Do you need any special hardware? (blue ray, webcam, specialty ports, etc.) No

Is there anything else we need to know?

After countless hours searching the forums and using google I decided to make another one of these threads.

I want a portable laptop for university to replace my MBP. I do not want another mac (way overpriced), so am looking for a windows/linux build. My requirements are as follow:

1) Good battery life (4+ hours)
2) Has to be able to run games (doesnt matter what settings)
3) Has to have an SSD

Couple questions before we begin, would an SSD be worth it, even with an i5 processor? How big a difference between an i5 and an i7 be?

I have scoped out a sager from xotic and this is the result to what I have found so far.

Sager NP5160 / Clevo W150HN
