[MPC] Asus ROG Tytan Desktop for Gamers Gets Official - Page 4

I always thought the cheesy military-style marketing about pwning noobs was rather stupid.

After seeing those adverts I just can't take it seriously anymore, dammit Asus!

Exactly who are they targeting with that build? If I was dealing with such an expensive setup I would damn well know enough about computers to build it myself! RoG gaming laptops I can understand, you can't exactly build one. But this "gaming machine" is going to attract a very tiny % of people, most likely rich kids / rich parents buying the "best" and having no real idea what's inside or how it even works. It's like Alienware on steroids.

And with this whole "Republic of Gamers" business, I don't know where Asus got the idea that any normal PC gamer would invest in a GTX590 + 180gb Raid0 SSD's + 10TB HDD's, etc. "RoG" has become synonymous with "needless and overpriced" and 99% of the PC gaming population knows to stay away from that logo.

Also, what's with all this "Republic of Gamers" business? At this rate it will be the last thing that a gamer would be interested in. Maybe they should rename it "Republic of Millionaires" after they reveal the $4000 pricetag on that thing, I don't know where they got the idea that any normal PC gamer would invest in a GTX590 + 180gb Raid0 SSD's + 10TB HDD's, etc.
ROG products aren't for "normal gamers", never have been. ROG has always been ASUS' "no holds bared" product lineup where they tell the engineer to go crazy. The result is often beyond the budget of an average consumer.

In that case Republic of Enthusiasts would've made a lot more sense. Republic of Gamers just doesn't fit when you look at the products : /

That may be the case if one's goal is to make the most sense. Republic of Gamers (ROG) markets better.

Would love to see more inside pictures, and I like the push button OCing and light scheme. And I wonder how many fans and what custom WC options it has.

Someone needs to buy it, strip out the parts, mod the case to hell and back, replace with proper ROG components, add a custom water loop, and OC the 2600k to 5.4Ghz stable, OC the 590 to 1Ghz, and show Asus how its done.

Not a fanboy of ROG. But if you are selling an ROG setup, you should put ROG inside the case not just on it.

I know right? It's just like every other pre-built: mid-tier parts with all attention given to the case design and a stupid logo.

Oh god, this. The worst I've seen would have to be that Gigabyte board with the chipset heatsink made to look like a machine gun clip.
