Who would have thought thousands of years on that the Great Wall would still be in effect - if there's one thing China is good at its putting up walls!!!

Seriously though this is another reason why western countries have it better. Any censorship is bad censorship!

It isn't exactly hard to tell if a site is being blocked for you. Verify that your connection is working properly then find somebody in another country or something who can verify the site isn't down. If you can't access it at that point you are being blocked somewhere along the line.

Maybe you take a second look at NPR.

Compromised news media at it's best.
Infiltrated? They receive a portion of their funding from businesses and corporations (about 20%). Not enough money for them to report one way or another on a topic.

http://www.npr.org/about/aboutnpr/pu...ofinances.html

Besides, they usually give multiple points of view on any controversial topics, unlike Fox News or CNN.

If you ever get the chance go travel the world, go see and live in other countries, until then you'll never know how limited American freedom really is.
Thanks for the conspiracy theories guys, can I see some proof of these accusations?

kikkO, if the US citizens were censored we'd likely know about it, because we're open to receive information like text messages, tweets, etc from any other country, and those countries would tell us exactly what they were seeing.

I haven't had a chance to travel the world, but I've known people from many different countries. They rarely have anything bad to say about the US, other than the usual comments about Americans eating too much.

It's really not that sick in the context of organizations like the CIA, who's reason to exist is to foment such rebellions and capture territory for the Empire without moving military units. The situation is less than ideal, but censorship by governments such as China, Venezuela, Cuba, etc . . . is justifiable given the enemy they face.
