SB is still better at this time. I have no clue how BD will face newer applications, but it does seem that newer, highly-threaded applications are actually faster on the FX 8150 compared to the i5 2500K (and sometimes 2600K). There is a glimmer of hope for the FX 8150.

As for right now, BD really does not hold a candle to anything intel has. In fact, their previous Phenom II line is more efficient. In a couple of years, we may actually see BD being competitive. As it stands right now, I will agree that Bulldozer seems to be ahead of its time, and thus, it does not compete very well using older software.
It will never be competitive, because at that time Ivybridge and other Intel architectures will be already out, leaving it in the dust.

AMD will see applications using 8 cores in at least 3 to 4 years MINIMUM

At that time, AMD will have improved their architecture too, so we'll see what happens.

Do you really believe that? Remember AMD said Bulldozer would blow Sandybridge away. What happened?

Where did AMD say this? Source? Are you talking about this? That document has been disproven in about every way imaginable, not to mention it is 9 months old. AMD never officially said this.

You're blowing smoke dude. You really have no clue what you're talking about do you? You're oozing the color blue right now. Care to explain what your agenda is?

My previous system was based on a Core 2 Duo e6600 and an 8800 GTX (that's right... Intel and Nvidia.) I'm on my current system because it was a lot cheaper than intel's and Nvidia's competing platform at the time, and as it stands, it will run circles around the E6600 for about half the price it cost when the e6600 was new. I have no agenda. I go with which ever company has the product that meets my needs at the time of purchase. What's your excuse?

Bulldozer didn't meet expectations. AMD marketed the crap out of BD, and it flopped. We all agree on that. Enough.
