FX is a gaming monster, I don't care if it passes whatever test you think is relevant. If you only game, why even upgrade, your Phenom 2 is better. Once again, your seeing different FPS's from different results in different periods of games with different frames at different times. In other words, your PH2 might even do better in alot of instances in that Battlefield 3 run.
The only reason to upgrade, is more cores. Problem solved, pick up a P2 955 for ~100$ used, save a massive amount of power consumption and heat, and better gaming performance via a much better IPC.
Or hell try and unlock your current CPU.
