so much for getting destroyed huh?
Averaging the results from the numerous benchmarks I've seen.. it still gets destroyed.

Hi everyone, well I patiently waited for Bulldozer and all I can say is I am pretty let down and feel like AMD doesn't care about me LOL I just wish for once AMD would actually make a chip that competed with Intel, if it was only 1% faster than 2600K I would have paid 345 for it.

Anyways here is my question, I am going to convert back to Intel again I think. I have a large 30" 2560x1600 monitor and I wanted to know what type of performance I would lose on a board like a Maximus IV Extreme-Z. I have two Powercolor 6970's in crossfire right now in x16/x16 configuration. The Maximus IV Extreme-Z only does x8/x8 in crossfire. I have been trying to find some solid evidence of this now for about an hour on google but I can't find anything legitimate. So if any of the folks here don't mind helping me out can you send me some sources or suggestions?

Sure, like 0,001% of the customers may find use of 8 core multithreading, no problems then.

yep, totally i would rather live my life a fool, my whole life is made up, in college and in school i made up everything about my life, and now, just coming out of college i can finally be myself. I may be a fool but i'm a smart fool, maybe not in your perspective because i'm not choosing "intel" i know full well what i'm doing, dunno why people were laughing when i said i wasn't a fanboy, it's just AMD is the only option for me, and if AMD do something underhanded then yeah i will not have a pc again.

if i had to choose between a processor and food (not food to keep you alive, just nice tasty things) i'll choose $250 in food to the processor, lol i'm probably boring the crap out of you now, you can see how this conversation has gone downhill. lmao.

A lot of you guys act like based on Bulldozer automatically all other AMD chips are terrible. As I've said before I build based on what I'm using the PC for. For gaming I'll stick with AMD for now. I'll be building something new in December. I may stick with AMD or I may use Intel. It depends on prices and comparable performance in games.

sometimes people don't mind losing a few fps if they got enough. When you are looking at a $99 phenom II dual/quad core + motherboard and $300 i7 2600k you might think twice before throwing out the extra 200 bucks.

Destroyed? A few unnoticeable fps is destroyed? Good to know your definition of that word is so distorted.

averaging results? more like a non engineered sample/bought out review..

not sure how it gets destroyed when its lower priced then the 2600 and the first eight core for consumers..

keep convincing yourself about that 2500 tho, not only is the review comparing the 2600, but it also favors amd. lets see what the upcoming weeks bring. expect only better

an 8 core thats cheaper then the 2600 and performs similarly?
whats there to not stick to..it just got released and its priced lower then the 2600...

performance either beats the 2600 or matches it...

who cares about crysis..not everyone plays games on their pcs
It doesn't beat the 2600K or even the 2500K in most tests. Even the older Phenom II does better in some tests. Take a look at the last page of the excellent hardwarecanucks.com review. Actually read the whole thing if you are so inclined but the last page is what matters.
