With this in mind what are your reasons for continuing to support a company who obviously cant design anything better than their own chip from 3 years ago.
I guess a couple of things spring to mind:

Your post seems inspired by the words of one nutter, and you haven't left much time for people to absorb todays revelations and even decide whether or not to stick with AMD. Were we supposed to know this epic fail was coming, just because some Intel fanboys were willing it to happen?

Personally, I made my decision 5 days ago. It was gamble, but a fairly "hedged" one: I ordered an AM3+ mainboard, because if Bulldozer either failed to show up or deliver, I knew that I could still get a decent value quad core Phenom II system together. To go Intel right now, I'd have to either stretch my budget for a low-end i5 or settle for an i3, neither of which I was willing to do.

AMD have always managed to find a legitimate place in the market, regardless of who's "top dog". By "legitimate", I mean most of their products have a price/performance ratio that makes them perfectly good choices, if that's your budget. If FX changes that (it's not even out in the UK yet, so who knows), then maybe this will be my last AMD system. But this week, even this rather bad day, AMD still managed to be the right choice for my wallet. Albeit with a 2009 product.

OMG. i ordered my seatup a few hours (minutes) before bd came out. Thank go i didnt wait. you see the games are biased- they only use 4 of the 8 cores provided. because of that we cant open up what bd can do. comparing cores next to each outher we would have the i7 winning but for multitasking the BD will win.

AMD isn't just the FX line... Llano, HD 6xxx, memory apparently, etc. AMD usually has the price/performance so I look to them first. Unfortunately for them and us, BD did suck. I jumped ship long ago... although, I'm getting a 6950

Don't you mean one tenth the performance? ten time less is like being 42 years young.

Because my Phenom II still works very well and I've no desire to upgrade just yet to SB, nor do I want to switch over to Intel simply because they've the fastest chips right now
